H1N1 Flu Shot

I am curious to know if there are any parents who have the same reservations as I do about the H1N1 flu shot.

Midfield Cafe

Just wanted to share with everyone the fun we have had at Nashua’s Midfield Cafe.  Located at the Nashua Airport, on Perimeter Road.  The cafe is right next to the runway, so you can watch planes and helicopters take-off and land while enjoying breakfast or lunch.  Prices are resonable and it’s a great distraction for the kids, while you enjoy your meal.  I have found them to be very accomodating and family friendly.  One day the waitress even tipped us off to an open house at one of the hangers down the road…we were able to go sit in private planes, as well as get up close and personal with some older airplanes.

Unfortunately Midfield Cafe does not have a website (that I know of), but they are easy to find if you follow Perimeter Road.  Also, check the Nashua Telegraph for coupons, occasionally they print one for a free kids meal with the purchase of an adult meal.

Follow Up to “Great Places to Take Children”

One of our parents was kind enough to forward along information on a variety of diffierent activities including corn mazes and farms, covered bridges, performing arts, sports, amusement parks, state parks and a few other areas of interest.  I would be more than happy to forward along this list if it is of interest to anyone.  I’m still new at blogging so I haven’t quite figured out whether I have the capability to attach documents.  I’ll go explore now.

Great Places to Take Young Children

It is always nice to hear about worthwhile places to take young children from those of us who have actually been there.  A few places we have gone to lately are the Discovery Museum in Acton, MA (about 35 mintues from Nashua).  This is a WONDERFUL place for young children (ages 15 months – 6 years) plus there is a Science Museum for older children, but we did not visit there so I can’t offer any comments.  Their website is Discovery Museum.

I highly recommend going though admission is a bit pricey!

The Roger Williams Zoo in Providence, RI (about 2 hours from Nashua) is a great zoo!  Very clean and affordable.  Outside the zoo is a beautiful park, walking trails and an indoor Carousel.   This is a great all day outing for children of all ages.

Please share of any places you have taken your children recently that may be useful to others.  Feel free to include destination places as well for those parents who are thinking of mini-vacation ideas.
