Creative Years continues its tradition of providing excellence through expansion.

Needing a multi-purpose indoor play space has been on the high priority list for a few years now explains Owner and President, Bobbie Smith. “We have talked about expanding our current building size for a couple of years and we finally decided that this was the time.” Creative Years is using the same construction company that designed the original building, Fulcrum Associates to keep with its current design.
Creative Years caters to children ages six weeks through twelve years. Large classrooms and two large playgrounds have been the primary places where children play, learn and grow. Now there will be an additional area to use in the form of a large multi-purpose gym. “The addition of this new space will provide an area for all ages to use, which will be especially useful on rainy and cold days. The new space will provide an area for gross motor activities as well as contain toys, games and activities that are not in the children’s current classrooms. Our hope is that children and teachers will look forward to having an alternative play space / activity center to enhance their daily curriculum.”

The construction has created quite a buzz around the Center. The children have marveled at all of the construction vehicles and the pieces of the building that get completed each day. “It’s fun watching the tractors dig and move dirt!” exclaimed one four year old. “Everyone is very excited about the new space, but right now we are really enjoying the learning experience this is providing for the children,” stated Christie Picard, a four year old teacher. “We have used this opportunity to discuss the different aspects of construction including the types of tools needed, the materials, the manpower, etc. It’s been a great summer activity!”
It seems that this project is beneficial in many more ways than originally expected! Construction is slated to be finished at the end of August, just in time for the start of the new school year.
